From Pupil to Teacher: Carmel Investment Comes Full Circle
Len Butler, our much-loved veteran teacher of 23 years, retires as the 2021 school year draws to a close. We will miss him hugely! As is the way with 国标麻豆视频APP students and teachers, those who leave often come back. In this case, our OKC Sarah-Lee Meisels takes over the Year 5 teaching baton from Len for 2022. As Len says, 鈥淚 taught Sarah-Lee when she was in Year 7 in 2002 and now she will teach a new generation of Carmel kids.鈥
Sarah-Lee knows that Len leaves big shoes to fill. 鈥淢r Butler taught me many things but something that stood out was 鈥榥ever give up,鈥鈥 she says. 鈥淲ho would have thought that 19 years later I鈥檇 be setting up my own class in the exact classroom where he taught me? It鈥檚 an honour for me to be receiving this 鈥榖aton鈥 from Len, and I will always be grateful to him for encouraging his students to bring out their best in everything that they do.
鈥淗ere I am, about to start teaching the Year 5s of 2022 and I stand with great respect and gratitude for those who taught me in the past, while promising my future students that I will try to be as dedicated and passionate as my teachers were and to bring out their personal best in everything that they do.鈥
We couldn鈥檛 think of a better person to take on Len鈥檚 teaching mantle, Sarah-Lee!
