This year, Carmel was unable to attend the regular IPSHA co-ed Athletics Carnival so an alternative day was held with Guildford and Helena College. This enabled the athletes from each school to showcase their skills at a competitive but low key, friendly event. Carmel was the host for the day and the organisation for this meet was tight. The Primary School had only finished their faction carnival the previous Friday, having been postponed because of the inclement weather on the scheduled date, leaving no time for athletes to fine-tune and prepare to any extent. Nonetheless, Carmel students acquitted themselves well with some very tight finishes across all the races and a range of skills on display in the field events. There were also a number of parents lending their support, which is always appreciated.
