Finally, the camp we had all been waiting for arrived - Machane Zooz 2021! The theme for our weekend at Advent Park camp was all about exploring Zionism and our roots. We had guest speakers, group games and even a night time obstacle course. We enjoyed our first full shabbat together as a cohort out in nature with some delicious food (thank you, kitchen crew!) and Friday night was a blast. We had a beautiful kabbalat shabbat service followed by ruach at dinner and then an entertaining evening of Friday night games. The Saturday shule service was heaps of fun when Ari Jacobson was called to the Torah to celebrate his fake Bar Mitzvah! As shabbat was ending we had a seuda filled with singing and lots of nachas. The Havdalah service was very moving and memorable for all. No one wanted to go home - we all had an amazing couple of days.
A huge thank you to Mr Lawrence - we ALL appreciate everything you do - to all the teachers, especially Mrs Kagan, who not only spent shabbat with us but who also taught us a fun and catchy song which has been stuck in our heads since, and to all the madrichim.
